What is inspiring leadership?
What does inspiring leadership mean to you? How have you been inspired by a leader?
Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Mother Teresa are inspiring leaders that immediately come to mind or maybe you can think of someone that has made some very simple influences in your life, maybe someone you know at work or at home?
What is it that makes the difference? What is it that makes you want to work so hard for some bosses and go the extra mile?
We know that our bosses can have a huge impact on how we feel at work and about ourselves. Think of a boss you’ve had that you would have done anything for, worked all weekend, followed him or her to the next company or just enjoyed going in to work every day as you knew you were making a difference.
Inspiring leadership is very difficult to define as we are inspired by different values, behaviours and beliefs. A leader that may inspire one of us would not inspire another.
Even though there are differences there seem to be similarities as well. It seems that Inspiring Leadership within the workplace has been generally defined by a set of certain principles and behaviours. There is a general roadmap to inspiring others as well as some well documented research that demonstrates how inspiring and motivating others can dramatically improve performance and bottom line results
